Hazard Perception Test
The test consists of 14 video clips, each lasting about one
minute. The clips feature various types of hazards, such as vehicles,
pedestrians and road conditions. You should respond by pressing a mouse button
as soon as you see a hazard developing that may result in the driver having to
take some action, such as changing speed or direction. The earlier the
developing hazard is spotted, and a response made, the higher the score.
The driving test is
straightforward. It is designed to see if you can drive safely, know the
Highway Code and can demonstrate this through your driving. The test routes are
designed to be as uniform as possible, including a range of typical road and
traffic conditions. You will be given directions in good time and asked to
carry out exercises. The driving test lasts approximately 40 minutes.
Show Me, Tell Me
For the final part of your driving test, the examiner will
ask you to show or tell him/her how to check and maintain your car for road
worthiness.
